About Japan
Japan is the most popular destination for Australian school students to go abroad due to a long history of programmes between the two countries.
The AFS Japanese Intensive Language Programme brings students from around the world to Japan for a 4-week programme in October – November 2025.
Participants will experience Japanese culture, learn the language and live with a carefully selected host family to fully immerse themselves in the Japanese way of life.
This programme can be a life-changing and eye-opening experience, exposing students not only to a new culture, but helping forge life-long connections and friendships. Living and studying abroad will prepare you for life in ways that no other experience can – you will learn more, gain more and grow more than you thought possible.
