Your Sustainability Projects

This programme focuses on the global issues of sustainability and environmental protection. During your two weeks in Germany, you’ll attend workshops on conservation, energy usage, nutrition, and resource consumption with students from around the world. As you discuss topics like up-cycling, climate change, and alternative energy, you’ll learn how to bring sustainable practices into your everyday life by developing your own project idea. These activities will help you gain a better understanding of how environmental solutions are implemented around the world.

Your Accommodations

You and your group will be staying at a hostel in Bremen, where you’ll get to know people from around the world. You can expect to share a room with up to five participants of the same gender, offering the chance to grow close with your new friends. All meals will be provided, and you’ll enjoy a primarily vegetarian diet to help build awareness of sustainable nutrition. The main language spoken at the program will be English, and no German skills are required to participate. Trained counselors will be present with the group at all times.

Exploring the Area

In your free time, you and your friends can explore your surroundings in Bremen, reflect on the day’s projects, and take part in daily intercultural activities. The program also offers several trips, including a two-day overnight visit to the city of Berlin. There, you’ll explore some of the country’s most iconic sights while getting a taste of German art, architecture, and history. Some additional excursions will include a trip to the coastal city of Bremerhaven to visit the Klimahaus, a museum devoted to the issue of climate change, as well as a visit to the German tidelands along the North Sea. You’ll also have the chance to tour an organic farm to learn more about sustainable practices and locally-sourced food.
