Lars from Switzerland

Lars is a curious and empathetic person with a strong love for music—he plays percussion in his village orchestra and sings in his school’s pop choir.

He enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, and going on trips with his sisters. Growing up on a farm, he has developed a deep connection with animals, especially the family’s cows, chickens, dog, and cats.

In winter, he enjoys skiing and reading when it’s cold outside. Passionate about languages and cultures, Lars is excited to experience life in New Zealand, improve his English, and share his Swiss traditions.

Adam from Poland

Adam is an active and adventurous boy from Poland. He enjoys playing tennis, learning languages like English and French, and studying geography. Sports are a big part of his life—whether individual or team games such as badminton, volleyball, billiards, and mini golf—and he’s always keen to try something new.

He has a love for adrenaline activities like skiing and visiting theme parks, and he dreams of going bungee jumping one day. Adam also enjoys traveling, sightseeing, and discovering new cultures and cuisines. At home, he likes building Lego sets, spending time with his large extended family, and sharing meals, especially traditional Polish dishes.

Leah from Japan

With a creative and determined spirit, Leah shines through her love of music and dance. From winning gold with her choir at a national competition to leading choreography in her high school dance club, she thrives on expressing herself and supporting others. Described as adaptable and proactive, she enjoys taking on new challenges.

Family is central to her life, and their strong bond has shaped her resilience. Drawn by her curiosity for different perspectives and cultures, Leah has chosen a year abroad in New Zealand to embrace diversity, experience Māori traditions, and grow more independent. She looks forward to building meaningful connections with her host family, sharing her Japanese culture, and creating lasting memories.

Antonio from Brazil

Antônio is a sporty and adventurous teenager with a natural talent for picking up new activities. Known for his kindness, respect, and strong values, he is independent, responsible, and well trusted by those around him. Open-minded and curious about the world, Antônio adapts easily and enjoys learning from different cultures.

He is excited to spend a year in New Zealand, where he looks forward to experiencing Kiwi sports, music, and traditions—and is especially eager to give rugby a try. At the same time, he hopes to share his Brazilian heritage with his host family, from food and customs to everyday life, while creating lasting memories together.

Franz from Germany

Franz is a friendly and enthusiastic student with a love for sports and the outdoors. He enjoys playing football and tennis, skiing in the winter, and spending time hiking and exploring nature. Family is very important to him, and he values strong relationships and support.

Excited to experience life in a new country, Franz looks forward to improving his English, embracing new experiences, and sharing his own culture, all while staying motivated in school and making lasting connections.
