About this Teacher Scholarship
The Commonweath Society and AFS are offering a scholarship for a teacher to travel to India for two weeks, the participants will:
Be hosted with a family in India and attend and work with colleagues in a school in India. Experience cultural events and have full support through AFS India.
Included in the scholarship:
- All accommodation through an AFS host family
- AFS Medical Insurance
- All programme fees
- Flights up to a maximum of NZ$2000 direct return to the host family
Participants will be expected to cover:
Visa (AFS can assist with this)
Additional insurance necessary for pre-existing or luggage insurance
Any personal spending
Any additional costs
Participants will be required to host in return a visiting teacher from India for two weeks (preferably with the same host school as visited)

The programme is likely to fit within the NZ school holidays in the second half of 2016.
All teachers currently teaching at a school in the Canterbury Region wishing to learn about the culture of India to bring back and share with their students, from schools with an interest in Asia Awareness.
