Kia ora koe mo to takoha!

The Māori Education Trust has been working in partnership with AFS NZ since 1989 and in this time has sponsored over 170 students to take up the challenge to live and study overseas for one year.

”Now I understand my friends and family with ease. I can understand the jokes and laugh about them with the people here. When I meet up with friends from New Zealand on the exchange too we start talking in Spanish until we realize that talking in English would be a lot easier. When I talk to my parents I sometimes start talking in Spanish.”
